If you know of an interesting periodic table that is missing, please contact the database curator: Mark R. Leach Ph.D. The database holds information on periodic tables, the discovery of the elements, the elucidation of atomic weights and the discovery of atomic structure (and much, much more).

Use the drop menus or search box (below) to Select or Search the 1400 entries in the database:

Vortex Based Periodic Table of The Elements

The Vortex Based Periodic Table of Elements: A full view of the Pairs and Squares of Leonid A. Levin (2025) by Rev Daniel Elis Axelrod.

Daniel writes:

"The layout takes the period pairs of Charles Janet's left-step table (1928). Each pair of periods forms one ring. The four rings sit one inside the other. A space divides the table in half. The first period of each ring fills the left half, and the second period mirrors it on the right. Each element faces a mirror partner across the space. Of the 60 mirror pairs, 59 share a group. Helium and beryllium are the exceptions.

"The rings hold 4, 16, 36 and 64 elements: the even numbers 2, 4, 6 and 8 raised to the 2nd power. Each ring is the shell size 2n^2 taken twice.

"Attached are images of the table as a PNG, an SVG and an animated SVG, plus an interactive HTML version. Pointing at an element lights up that element and its mirror partner. A short paper is included in the HTML and the animated SVG."
